Kyshtym deposits of crystal quartz are situated on the Eastern slopes of the South Ural Mountains. The total quartz length is 15 km.; in sub-meridian dimension with width varying of 1-3 km with total square of length is about 20 sq. km.
The main source of raw materials of quartz is a unique object – a lens # 175 that consists of almost pure quartz with rare characteristics:
- The huge amount of industrially available resources (more than 50 years of full load current capacity)
- The mine is comparatively close to surface (lens located in depths from 30 to 90 meters underground)
- Uncommon chemical purity of natural quartz
